The story begins with Raveendran Pillai(Lal) who is a police head constable and he turns back few pages of his life when he was compelled by his senior officers to shoot at joseph (Prithviraj)who is already tied to a tree and has been through rhe most gruesome third degree torture.Joseph happens to be the leader of a naxalite group of youth.Raveendran recollects the time when he meets Sharamma (Dhanya) and the other family members and discovers the cruel torture that they have been subjected to under the hands of the local landlord Krishnadeva Saiver (Atul Kulkarni).

It is these acts that propel Hoseph to take up arms and kill the landlord and then join the naxalite movement.Truth apart,Raveendran is unable to take the guilt and files a counter affidavit after few years and the case is reopened.But then, this brings new troubles to the constable who has his family of wife Karthyayini (Rohini) and his two children.What happens after that forms the rest of the story
